New Name for New Zealand’s Largest Energy Solutions Provider – GreenStar is now GreenSide
GreenStar Energy Solutions has rebranded to GreenSide Energy Solutions.
Founded in 2011 to insulate Kiwi homes as part of EECA’s (Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority) Warm Up New Zealand Programme, GreenSide Energy Solutions provides a complete range of energy solutions – from insulation and heat pumps to ventilation – to homeowners, landlords and property managers.
"Initially we operated largely on our own," says co-founder Rob Leaupepe-Hansell.
"Now, as a result of changes to the industry, such as the Residential Tenancy Act and the Healthy Homes Standards, our approach and delivery is very much collaborative."
"The new name, GreenSide, sums up how we work with and alongside a wide range of partners, stakeholders and professionals to fulfil our goal of making Kiwi homes warmer, drier and more energy efficient."
In addition to EECA and the New Zealand Government, GreenSide partners with local councils, trusts, charities and companies across Auckland, Waikato and Bay of Plenty.
Nationally their partners include, EECA, IAONZ (Insulation Association of NZ), CEN (Community Energy Network) and Mercury.
Auckland partners include Auckland Council, EcoMatters Environment Trust, Awhi, Kainga Ora, Habitat For Humanity and Foundation North. In Waikato they work alongside Waikato DHB, WEL Energy Trust, Habitat For Humanity and South Waikato District Council. Their partners in the Bay of Plenty include Rotorua Energy Charitable Trust, Bay of Plenty Regional Council, Sustainability Options and Rotorua Lakes Council.
The company also works with a number of property management agencies and dozens of other delivery partners across the regions.
In recognition of their work in the Warmer Kiwi Homes programme, GreenSide Energy Solutions was named the number one service provider by EECA for both insulation and heat pumps – providing 20% of the total installs in 2019. This was more than any other provider.
While the name has changed, everything else is still the same. GreenSide Energy Solutions still provides the same great service, the same experienced and knowledgeable team, and the same passion and dedication to creating healthier homes for Kiwis as they have since the beginning.
