The Warmer Kiwi Homes program is a Government initiative that extends insulation and heater grants to homeowners across New Zealand. With over 110,000 installations of insulation and heaters already completed nationwide, countless families have experienced improved comfort and affordability in their homes.

It is the first step in determining what insulation, heating and/or ventilation your home might need and if you meet the requirements for free insulation with Warmer Kiwi Homes and other third-party funders.
Checking Your Eligibility for Warmer Kiwi Homes Subsidies
Search your address and see if you're in an area labelled 7, 8, 9, or 10. If you are, you could be eligible for a subsidy.
- Deprivation 7 & 8: 80% Subsidy for Insulation
- Deprivation 8, 9 & 10: 80% Subsidy for Heat Pump
- Deprivation 9, 10 & Community Service Card Holders: 90% Subsidy for Insulation
If you own and live in a house built before 2008, reside in a lower-income area, or hold a Community Services Card, you could be eligible for subsidies to cover the costs of insulation, heating, or both.
Recent updates have expanded the eligibility criteria even further. Referrals from District Health Boards may now be eligible for FREE insulation and heat pumps, covering 100% of the costs!
