Ensuring your investment is working as it should

Winter is approaching fast, and it’s important to ensure your heat pump is performing at its best to keep you warm and dry through the colder months. Although they’re an effective and efficient way to heat and cool your home, they require regular servicing to ensure they continue to work like new.

We specialise in heat pump installation and maintenance. We are also an approved provider under the Warmer Kiwi Homes subsidy. Click here to find out more.

A common question is why do I need to service my heat pump?

  1. It improves efficiency. Over time, the filters and coils collect dirt, dust and debris. A full filter reduces airflow. The unit uses more power to push out enough air, putting strain on the fan, burning the motor and causing your system to overheat and potentially fail.
  2. Just like a car, a service runs through basic cleaning and inspecting the car for anything out of the ordinary. Getting a service will help identify any issues with the unit and catch them before they get worse and end up costing more.
  3. A heat pump that hasn’t been serviced regularly becomes a place where mold, bacteria and other allergens grow and make their way into your home. This can lead to poor air quality and even health problems for you and your family.

The good news is there are some things you can check yourself. We have some tips here.

The best time to get your heat pump serviced is before you need it most. If you haven’t already serviced it, get in touch with us as soon as you can. Our books fill up fast!
